No Plane - No Gain!

One of the most important factors of producing a consistent contact and ball
flight is swinging your golf club on the proper "plane." Your swing's
plane is determined by the angle your golf club sits at address. This is the
angle your club should also swing on as you move the club in a circular motion
around your body. An "on plane" swing is desirable because it tends
to create center hits, shallow divots and on line shots. Off plane swings are
often the culprit behind slices, hooks, toe hits, shanks and just about every
other shot you can think of!
To practice your plane, try this simple drill. Set your carry bag on the ground
in front of a mirror. Now, set up so that your club is positioned parallel to
the bag (a 7 iron should be a close match). Begin tracing your swing back and
down the edge of the bag always keeping the club parallel to the bag's angle.
A little time here is a sure way hitting better shots and more fun!
